It's 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland, and idiosyncratic, larger estimated, adolescent Tracy Turnblad has one dream: to move on the "Silly Collins Show". When she gets put in detainment with the African-American understudies in the school, they show her some of their move moves, and her freshly discovered section wins her a spot on Corny's appear. Overnight, Tracy changes from no one worth mentioning into a star, and uses her recently discovered impact to advocate for racial incorporation on the network show. Tracy confronts examination and harassing from the system maker, Velma, and her well known, however horrible, little girl, Amber. With the assistance of the high school heartthrob Link, host Corny Collins, and Motormouth Maybelle (the host of 'Negro Day'), Tracy conquers the chances and succeeds in her central goal to coordinate the "Cliché Collins Show."
