Research Paper On Gustav Klimt

Ancient artists used their artistic pieces to express their emotions and feelings toward people, things and nature. An example of such an artist was Gustav Klimt; an accomplished artist Klimt was in love with a lady known as Adele Bloch. Klimt expressed his love to Adele by using symbolic language in his portraits. He did two paintings of her, one of which was supposed to be displayed at her wedding. The purpose of this paper is to find out how Gustav Klimt uses symbolism to portray Adele elegance and grace which insinuate at a relationship between them. It also seeks to explore the inspiration and the idea behind Adele’s portrait.

There are various symbols that hinted at a romantic relationship with Adele. First Adele was the first person that Klimt drew two portrait of. This hinted at a special relationship between them. Klimt and had a close relationship with Adele they went to dinners and spent most their time together. Adele usually kept the paintings of her done by Klimt as memory. Klimt did a painting for Adele for her wedding though Klimt never completed the painting in time for the wedding it was a gesture of love and affection to the love of his life. Going through Klimt story and history one thing is clear. He was an accomplished artist in his own right, with a passion and love for art that overcame limitations.
