Research Paper On Gorgonopsids

Improved Essays
Gorgonopsids were the largest predators of the late Paleozoic, the era just before dinosaurs. They grew as large as 10 feet long and were among the most ferocious predators ever, Ward said. Their heads appeared somewhat dog-like, with large saber-tooth upper canine teeth up to 4 inches long. NT2200-Week Two-Perspectives on Paul Paper The “old perspective” or “traditional perspective” that Timothy G. Gombis presents in our textbook can be summed up as a human effort to make oneself righteous in the eyes of God through works of the law. According to Timothy G. Gombis (2010), “When Paul critiques “Law,” “works of the Law,” and “works,” he is opposing an implicit Jewish legalism; the assumption that one’s status before God is earned through merit gained through good deeds” (p. 83).…

Feeling unnerved before the sight of a large cobra standing elevated under the shadow of an even larger mongoose that is slightly taller than the average cat both in the poses of strike. Megalodon , meaning "big tooth," is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 23 to 2.6 million years ago (mya), during the Early Miocene to the end of the Pliocene. There has been some debate regarding the taxonomy of megalodon: some researchers argued that it was of the family Lamnidae and closely related to the great white shark, while others argued that it belonged to the extinct family Otodontidae; presently, there is consensus that the latter view is correct. Its genus placement, however, is still debated, with authors placing it in either Carcharocles, Megaselachus, Otodus, or Procarcharodon. The shark has made appearances in several media, such as the Discovery Channel's docufiction Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives.…

The focus on aesthetics, or more commonly known, the admiration of beauty, might seem abnormal when discussing monsters, after all, a monster is known for its lack of beauty. Early myths portrayed the monster as something to be killed, a brute that may have resembled humankind, similarly as their divine beings did, however as opposed to being worshiped, they were consistently kept in the cemetery of crushed enemies. Over the years, the monsters of myths have moved from the iconic literary works onto the big screen of the cinema, permitting audiences to now see the creatures that were once only a culmination of descriptive phrases. The steady visual alteration of the Phantom and other monsters in film, has now disturbed the long-held hypothesis that claims that a monster's body is basically an embodiment of disparity bringing about one outcome, fear.…
