How to be a man in a crime family
Men are not always the smartest men. Goodfellas, made in 1990, is a crime/thriller movie about a man named Henry Hill who grew up around the mafia, working for the mob since just a little kid. The older Henry gets, the more ranks he climbs in his crime family, eventually reaching the top. Drug addiction and other issues in his life caused Henry’s life to fall apart, and his rank in the mob to fall tremendously, losing all the respect he once had as a man, from his mob family, and his real family.
Throughout this entire movie, Henry loses everything going for him in his life, in such a brief period because of his addiction to drugs, which completely makes him spiral out of control, making him less worried about making money for himself and his family, and more worried about spending money on drugs. This set up Henry for massive amounts of failure because it caused his work to slip, leading to the police investigating him for months without Henry having any idea, showing his sloppiness towards the …show more content…
From Ray Liotta as Henry Hill, Joe Pesci as Tommy DeVito, and Robert Deniro as James Conway, absolute legends in the acting community, to lesser role characters played by Paul Servino as Paul Cicero, Frank Vincent as Billy Batts, and Lorraine Bracco as Karen Hill, Henry's wife. Every actor fills their character role to the best of their ability making the acting out of this world, especially in a movie about the mob, which is not always depicted correctly, unlike this movie which spoke with the real mafia to even get the last-minute details that would make the film seem more authentic to the viewer’s eyes, who are searching for a legitimate movie about the mafia life, and the pain and suffering that comes along with
