Giuseppe Garibaldi, born Joseph Marie Garibaldi, was born on July 4th, 1807 in Nice, France, and died in Caprera, Italy on July 2nd, 1882 at the age of 79. Garibaldi, with the assistance of Camillo di Cavour, was able to help Italy become a united nation. Camillo was the brains of the operation, but Garibaldi used his brawn, and became the known as the militia force of the duo. They finally succeeded in unifying Italy in the year of 1840.

Giuseppe Garibaldi had ideas of revolution from a young age by the time he met Giuseppe Mazzini, who already had plans for Italian unification. Mazzini was an up and coming doctor before he dropped out of college to join the Carbonari, a network of secret revolutionary groups. However early on they found
