Forrest Gump
A) 1. “His back is as crooked as a politician.”
Doctor/Mrs. Gump/Forrest Gump’s back was crooked and politicians were considered crooked, meaning they were dishonest.
2. “Your mama sure does care about your schooling.”
Principal/Forrest Gump/Mrs. Gump was so determined to have him educated in a public school that she did anything to allow him to be there, even sleeping with the principal of the school.
3. “He had him a guitar case.”
Forrest Gump/People at Bus Stop/Elvis Presley was staying at his house and brought along his guitar. He sang his song while he played it and Forrest danced, which inspired Presley to dance the same way himself when he became famous.

“I was messed up for a long time.”
Jenny Curran/Forrest Gump/She wants to apologize for how she treated Forrest. She’s had a tough childhood with her father and did unbelievable jobs to get into the music world. All these things drove her insane and caused her to do bad things to him.

Forrest Gump has both good and bad qualities to his character. While he has a low IQ and isn’t very smart, he is determined to overcome challenges and achieve goals. Running helped to get past trouble as well get into college. He is also very forgiving and loving, especially to Jenny who doesn’t always stay by his side. This can be negative because Forrest just cares too much for her that he overlooks all the horrible things she’s done to him. His simple mind allows him to try to be friendly to anyone, even if they don’t like him. He is a bit gullible, doesn’t understand sarcasm, and does not see the bad qualities in people very easily or quickly. Forrest is also too willing to do anything for anyone and even wanted to do shrimp boating even after Bubba had
