Ernest Hemingway was a Nobel Prize winner and “is seen as one of the great American 20th century novelists.”(Biography.com) He was considered a great author due to the legacy he left behind; “his work and iconic style that still influence writers today. He was born to Clarence and Grace Hemingway in july 21, 1899 in Oak Park; Illinois, USA. “He lived in this conservative suburb of chicago, but the family also spent a great deal of time in northern Michigan, where they had a cabin.”(Biography.com) He died on july 2, 1961 in his Ketchum(Idaho; USA) home by suicide gunshot. His mother was a very domineering woman that she “wanted a daughter, not a son, and dressed Ernest as a girl and called him Ernestine.”(IMDb.com)

He was later awarded the Italian Silver Medal of Bravery, but later sustained injuries that hospitalized him in Milan. His greatest influences were the events that happened around him, World War 1, World War 2, several plane crashes, and the Spanish Civil War, and his divorces or heartbreaks. One important decision he made was becoming an Expatriate due to him believing that his hometown as he described having ”wide lawns and narrow minds ”. He had Manic Depression or bipolar disorder, and was treated with electroshock therapy. The therapy as, he claimed, had destroyed his memory, other sources claimed that the effects of it were what drove him to
