December 24th isn’t just Christmas Eve, it’s also National Egg Nog Day. Egg Nog is a chilled, sweetened, dairy-based beverage traditionally made with milk or cream, sugar, whipped eggs, and sometimes rum, bourbon or brandy is added too. It is a beverage severed around the holiday season, it can usually be found on store shelfs a little before Thanksgiving but only is available until New Years. There are a few ideas of where egg nog first came about, but it is sort of a mystery.
The name “egg nog” came from the word “noggin” which is a small cup made of wood that the festive drink was served in. Egg nog goes as far back as the 14th century. Egg nog or also known as egg milk punch, may have originated in England. Where it originally developed
