In 1927, Lemaitre wrote a report which called A homogenous universe of constant mass and growing radius accounting for the radial velocity of extragalactic nebulae. This report was puplished in the little known journal Annales de la Societe Scientifique de Bruxelles. In that report, he explained his new idea of an expanding universe and showed the first document which becomes later a Hubble law as well as he presented the first observation of Hubble constant.
In 1931, there was a meeting of the British Association in London to talk about the relationship between the physical universe and spirituality. Lemaitre talked about his observation that the universe had …show more content…
Einstein later agreed that Friedmann and him are correct, and he realised that they shed new light on the whole subject.
After Eddington learned of George Lemaitre's 1927 paper that explained the expanding of universe and Edwin Hubble's work on the recession of spiral nebulae, he immediately become an extremely supporter of an expanding universe. In 1929 Edwin Hubble proved and explained the expansion of universe by observing the distance of galaxies. Edwin Hubble also helped to prove that Lemaitre hypothesis is correct.
In 1948 Gamow estimated the strength of remaining cosmic microwave background radiation, saying that the glow of the Big Bang must be cooled after billion of years that has to fill the universe with a radiation about five degree above zero. This prediction was proved by the discovery of cosmic microwave which was 2.7 above zero. This is done by Penzias and Wilson in 1965.
