During Cervantez life he was on many adventures and those adventures influenced his writing. He made his book Don Quixote a parody of the romances of his own time. Don Quixote rides out for adventure like any other knight-errant. He encountered battles, some good, and some not so good people along the way; he kept the same standard, principles and goals as other knights. While engaging in battle he invokes chivalric ideals, regardless of the ridiculousness of his adventures. Chivalry is the emphasis of protecting the weak, venerated women, and celebrating the wandering knight, who travels from place to place performing good deeds.
