The national park, Death Valley is located in California and is 5,262 square miles. It’s a desert terrain that can have temperatures greater than 120 degrees fahrenheit in the summer. The highest temperature ever recorded was 134 degrees during 1913. The average rainfall is about 2 inches, which is much less than most deserts get in the summer time, hence why it’s called Death Valley. In the winter time, Death Valley has mild temperature in the day time and at night, the temperature can get to just below freezing temperature.
Death Valley’s land is very different from any other national park there is. It’s mountains and mud stones can be red, blue, and green shades. Iron and other different minerals give Death Valley its famous colorful mountains.
