Here in this project we will be writing about Costa Rica's flag and what the design represents to the country and culture. The country, Costa Rica, is located in Central America. Also why the colors are red, white and blue. Here is a quick little fact about the Costa Rican flag to get you started. The red, white and blue stand for peace, wisdom and happiness. Out of all the flags I think that the best design of the flag has to be Costa Rica . The National Shield of Costa Rica has three volcanoes representing the nation’s three mountain ranges. There is a valley between the two oceans where each ocean has a merchant ship. The valley which divides the two oceans where the ships are sailing, symbolizes the seaports of the Pacific and the Caribbean Ocean. The First Lady Pacifica Fernández Oreamuno was inspired by France's 1848 Revolution, and the creation of the French Second Republic. The new design to the Costa Rican flag adopted the colors of the French Tricolore. She modeled the flag after the ideals of freedom, equality and brotherhood. As a result she chose the same colors as the French national flag.

In conclusion all of this information is for the sake of some factual knowledge on why the Costa Rican flag is the designed in this manner. The flag and the design symbolizes a lifestyle of the Costa Rican people. The symbols represent a culture of peace, inspiration and happiness. The flag also stands for the mental strength of the society because the colors of the flag represent the Costa Rican ideals.
