In the beginning, there were gods who controlled every aspect of life. Everything from the ocean and the sun was the domain of a god or goddess. Two of these gods met and fell in love, the god of the sky, Zeus, and the Titan goddess of the moon, Selene. They met and had two children who were twins . These twins grew to become the goddesses Corinna and Cortana, Cortana being the eldest of the two. She was pale with dark hair and dark eyes, but she grew up ignored by her parents because they favored her younger sister. Corrina on the other hand was a happy child who fulfilled all of her parents’ wishes. She was described as the golden child because she had golden blond hair, bright blue eyes, and tan skin. She loved her sister, but many did not. They claimed Cortana had a dark aura and would turn on them all. …show more content…
Corinna followed her and tried to find her, but every time she got close, Cortana disappeared again. As she grew older, Corrina became the goddess of light, peace, and defender of the wild. Meanwhile, Cortana settled in the caves adjacent to the Upper Underworld and went on to be the goddess of darkness, hate, and patron of all monsters.
But one day, long after the sisters split, something peculiar happened on a small island in the Mediterranean Sea. The island was named Cyprus and it was ruled by the King Lucifer and Queen Cassiopeia who was vain beyond all belief. Yet they were both loved and feared by their people. They were described as a match made in heaven… or hell. They had one son, Kaito, who was spoiled beyond belief, yet wanted more than anyone could imagine. He had a habit of taking money from his parents to spend on expensive treasures, but often came home drunk and with less money than he had started

Children’s Book Reflection Origo Deorum is a retelling Hesiod’s Theogony, a large-scale synthesis of Greek religious traditions and fables concerning the gods and the universe. The children’s book recounts the birth of the gods and the gradual emergence of Zeus’ dominance and his formation of cosmic order. The story is told in three stages, the castration of Oursanos by Cronos, the deception of Cronos by Gaia and Zeus, and the victory of the new gods over the Titans. The myth does not follow the pattern of a Judeo-Christian creation myth or Ovid’s Metamorphoses, where an omnipresent god or power is responsible for all of creation, but rather follows the procreative pattern of the human family.…
