The Civil Right Movement was a social movement, where African Americans attempt to end racial segregation and unfair treatment. It began 1954, but it started to have a big impact in 1960. Four African American went to a “whites only” restaurant and sat on the front booth. Thus started the sit- in movement. Even though people around them started physically attack them, the four African American would still sit in the booths. “Sometimes they would be pelted with food or ketchup.
