Research Paper On Christina Rossetti

Christina Rossetti was born in 1830 and was the youngest of her siblings. Rossetti had two brothers, Gabriel and William and one sister, Maria. In the article “Biography of Christina Rossetti,” it states that “Rossetti was educated at home by her mother and her mother made her study religious works, classics, fairytales, and novels.” As Rossetti began to study those religious works, classics, fairytales, and novels, something sparked Rossetti’s writing abilities. In the “Biography of Christina Rossetti” article, it states “The influence of the work of Dante Alighieri, Petrarch, and other Italian writers had a deep impact on Rossetti’s later writing.” Rossetti had an eye for writing the moment she started reading and understanding the Italian writers. In the article “Christina Rossetti,” it states that “By the age of sixteen, she had been writing more than 50 poems.” Individuals can begin to realize how passionate Rossetti was about writing and learning how to write poetry. Rossetti had the heart of a servant so she decided to do volunteer work from 1859-1870. The type of volunteer work she did was at the St. Magdalene which is house of charity in Highgate.
