As a child Dumas was from Iran and she came her right before the political issue. People always questioned her because she was of a different race. Being from a different race she would scrape up enough english to answer them and they kept asking. Americans were very ignorant to Iran in 1972 so they would continue asking questions until she was fed up with the questions. When they asked the questions and she would tell her parents her mother would just shake her head and consider. Two years after her father's job here in America was done so she moved back to her home country. Within the last month of her living there she went to a sleepover. Kids asked even more questions questioning when they would come back to the U.S from Iran. She was only a child so she had no idea but she allowed them to visit her in Iran. Her mother spent the last weeks getting gifts and such things. More people asked questions. Once they were home they were more than likely very happy to be away from all the constant judging. All the questions could get very irritating after two full years of being asked
