Research Paper On Charles Gorman

Charles Gorman was born in July 6th, 1897 in Saint John, Brunswick, Canada. At that time, speed skating was very popular, so little Charles received an ice skates soon after he took his first walks. The boy immediately took to that sport and kept practising diligently.

In 1907, Charles took part in his first competition and at the age of 15, he won the Maritime speed skating title. It was his first championship. In 1914, World war 2 broke out. Charles had to stop his passion for speed skating to join the army. During the war, he suffered a shrapnel wound in one leg, he was even told that he wouldn't be able to be a speed skater again.

Despite the wound, Charles decided to focus on skating when he returned to Canada. To everyone amazement,
