Cats being independent have been a persistent definition for centuries, never wavering even among domesticated cats living among us in our households. Cats simply put, are solitary predators that don’t really require a pack or a family to survive. Think about how cats hunt, they stalk, hide and then pounce upon their prey – wouldn’t be so successful if they were in a group of other cats, now would it? While some cats can live in groups, it is not a required trait of the cat breed. The cat family can most certainly trace their genealogy to ancient Cyprus and Egypt where cats were held to such a high regard that laws were actually created to protect these wonderful animals. If you are wondering why your cat seems to be a bit snobby at times, the ancient times in Egypt and Cyprus may be to blamed, who knows if these cats can understand and comprehend their true history but one may have to wonder based upon how the modern day cat
