Carlisse Perales I am 12 years old and I live with my mom and my brothers in Berlin. My mom’s side of the family is from Bristol, so I see them most of the time, but my dad’s side is from Las Vegas and Mexico. Almost every year, my brothers and I travel to Vegas to visit my family. My stepmom owns a house there, so my dad lives part time in both Vegas and CT. My mom owns a dance studio in Unionville, and it is pretty much our second home since we are there all the time. I am more of an athletic person than an artsy person. My 2 favorite things to do are gymnastics and running. Last year, I did both cross country and track. I also did gymnastics for only 2 sessions, because I’m mostly self-taught. I also love camping and hiking. My family

When it comes to Rome’s greatness, I do believe that God appointed Rome to be a vast empire, so that the gospel message would be spread all over the world. You see, there had to be an empire during the time of Jesus because God wanted the message of the cross taught throughout the Roman cities. We have learned in our readings that there were two common languages (Latin and Greek), that were used during the height of the Roman empire. Latin was standard in the western part of the empire and Greek was standard on the eastern, more traditional and less Romanized part of the empire. So, by having only a few common languages used throughout the empire, it would be easy for many Roman and “Barbaric” people to hear the message of Jesus Christ.…

Argas persicus are vectors for Avian Spirochetosis as they carry the causative agent Borellia anserina. These soft ticks spend most of their time hidden in tight spaces (ex. crevices of buildings or caves) close to their hosts- various types of birds including turkey and chickens. Commercial hens are kept in suspended cages (Walker) they do not come in contact with substrate where soft ticks develop (the engorged female tick lays eggs on the ground, still commonly in cracks and crevices). Thus as the cages have no contact with the ground and provide fewer crevices for older A. persicus to hide in there are limited opportunities for the tick to provide a threat to commercial poultry. Commercial hens are also commonly separated into multiple flocks, so those with the same age and breed are in close proximity to one another (Walker).…

My early years were a little weird when it comes to where I truly grew up. Originally, I was born in Terre Haute, a run down city that was on the verge of being in Illinois. I don’t remember much of what I thought of it when I was young, but since the times I have gone back to it, my initial thoughts about it being sort of trashy didn’t change. However, when I was four-years-old, I wouldn’t have to fret over living in Terre Haute anymore. It was that year that we moved south into a Princeton where I would only live there a miniscule amount of time before we would move again.…
