Call of Duty was a video game created by Infinity Ward to oppose EA's Medal of Honor in 2003. The Original Call of Duty was set in World War II, Call of Duty expanded the focus to capture a starling sense of global conflict putting you in the worn war-boots of American, British and Russian soldiers. Call of Duty was reviewed by critics and both its multiplayer and campaign set a solid basis for a video game series that would become one of the most successful entertainment franchises in the world.
Call of Duty: United Offensive was an expansion pack for the original game. United offensive included new single player missions including a new American campaign taking place in the famous Belgian choke point of Bastogne. United Offensive introduced the idea of ranks in multiplayer claiming new benefits the more they played.
Call of duty: Finest Hour. While the original Call of Duty was only available on PC, Spark Interactive make a spin-off for home consoles Ps2( Sony), Game cube( Nintendo) X box(Microsoft).
Finest Hour was the result, it was faithful to the Call of Duty legacy. It also had 32- man multiplayer for x box, an impressive number for a console generation that was yet to truly embrace online multiplayer.

Unlike most Call of Duty games, Big Red One focused on a single Allied squad: the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division. The titular Big Red One. Largely a sequel to Call of Duty: Finest Hour, while Big Red One could never possibly compete with Call of Duty 2, the game was better received than Finest Hour, providing a cinematic and perfectly serviceable shooter. Treyarch's work certainly didn't go unnoticed, as they would go on to become a key part of the Call of Duty
