The beach in Australia. We all go there. We all play, swim and enjoy the time in the sun. But have you ever noticed the people in the red and yellow?
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics , in Australia more than 85% if
“Australia’s superheroes are the lifeguards in the red and yellow” people live within 50 kilometres of the coastline of Australia. We all enjoy spending time at the beach on any free day. Typical superhero in most people’s head is Superman or Batman. A strong muscly man that wears a cape. To me, in Australia, I think that Australia’s superheroes are the childhood superheroes we have in our heads.
Australia is the largest island in the world. Any perks you say? Yes of course, there are plenty of beaches. Unlike other countries, Australia’s population is very concentrated in areas close to the coast. This means we all live very close to the beach.
When Australia took the ANZAC’s over to fight in the war, everyone back home saw them as heroes. They were the men that volunteered to fight for our county. Now obviously they weren’t heroes like Superman or Batman or any of those superheroes. They were the real life heroes. I do believe that they are heroes and we remember all they did for us on special days throughout they year

They are the people that will risk their lives so that you can keep yours. These are the men and women in red and yellow that watch us swimming at the beaches every day. They are the people that sit and watch the water all day to make sure it is safe for us to swim in. They will swim out to you and save you. They will risk their lives to help you keep yours. Thousands of trained volunteer surf lifesavers keep Australia's popular swimming and surfing beaches safe every summer by providing beach patrols and first aid services.
