Australia, officially called Commonwealth of Australia, is located in Oceania. Australis is the world’s smallest continent (“Australia: About Australia”). The country comprises the mainland of the Australia continent, the island of Tasmania, and a good amount of small island. Australia is mostly low plateau with deserts but with fertile plain in southeast area. As a result of diverse topography, climate is generally arid to semiarid but humid in north and mild in south and east. The land mass of Australia is smaller than the US contiguous 48 states. The capital city of Australia is Canberra. All figures stated in the above paragraph were found from the United States Central Intelligence Agency unless otherwise stated.

Sydney, New South Wales; Melbourne, Victoria and Brisbane, Queensland are three largest cities in Australia (Move To Australia). These cities not only have greatest amount of population, but also are financial centers in Australia.
