I can access the atonement in my life when I love the Lord. If I am living a good, wholesome life striving to become a disciple of Christ, I will naturally seek for His cleansing and strengthening power. Many times, I have felt the enabling power given to me through the Holy Ghost. Now I am a little older and hopefully more keen to see when these blessings come. I hope to rejoice and have thanks in my heart continually. As I am grateful and meek and lowly in heart, I can be blessed with the atonement of Jesus Christ in my life.

Daniel Mann said, “ sincere repentance is equivalent to the rebuilding of the temple, the restoration of the altar and the offering of all the sacrifices. ”(Daniel Mann, 1). These words are quite true, if a person has committed a sin and realizes his or her mistake and tries to atone for his sins sincerely then the person who has committed the sin can easily come out from that painful phase and hence, can start a new journey of his life and live freely. Atonement can be achieved by performing good deeds like helping the poor, help orphaned children, help the needy and make someone feel happy. These acts will not only help in achieving atonement but will also add on happiness and a sense of satisfaction in your life.…

Jalen Booker Instructor Benjamin Sorenson, MA Western Civilization 10 November 2017 Misconceptions Behind the Methodology of Roman Crucifixions: The Brutal Truth For centuries and centuries on end now, mankind has come to recognize crucifixion as one of the most vulgar, and brutal forms of execution that the world has ever known. Whenever we think of the numerous iconic figures who met their fates on the cross (including St. Peter the Apostle, St. Andrew the Apostle, and even Jesus Christ of Nazareth), we instantly begin to visualize the gruesome torture that they were set to endure. However, I am still convinced that many do not fully understand the extent of pain, and suffering that the cross distributed upon its victims.…

To say that Jesus is Lord means that Christians put our whole faith and trust in him, surrender to his authority, and agree to let him be the ruler of our lives. Throughout the practice of ministry, I have seen individuals accept Jesus’ Lordship in both subtle and dramatic ways. Some of our most stable and devoted leaders are baptized as infants, raised lovingly by a community of faith, and grow lifelong into that Lordship. However, those folks are fewer in number at the closing of this declining age of Christendom. I must confess I get really excited about those who encounter Christ in palpably transformative ways.…

This week’s discussion topic asks us why our view of atonement is critical to our view of Scripture and how it can impact our view of humanity. How we view atonement has an impact on how we view God and Christ and the importance we put on each of them. McRay gives the common definition of atonement indicating that it is the “satisfaction or reparation for a wrong or injury; amends,” and theologically as “the doctrine concerning the reconciliation of God and man, especially as accomplished through the life, suffering, and death of Christ” (McRay, 2003). Without this atonement, we are incapable on our own of ever having a relationship with God due to our sins. It is the only thing that makes it possible for us to be reconciled with God.…
