For instance something that interested me that I found was that the Arabian horse is the oldest purest horses alive. As the Arabian Horse Association (2016) points out “Bedouin tribes zealously maintained the purity of the breed. Because of their limited resources, breeding practices were extremely selective.” Basically this is stating that the Bedouin people were very strict about how they breed the Arabians and how the Arabians have kept their purity for such a long time due to the strict breeding process. The Horse Channel (2015) points this out with “Arabians were constant companions of the first documented breeders of the Arabian horse, the Bedouin people- nomadic tribesmen of Arabia who relied on the horse for survival.” This quote gives us the first interaction that the Arabian horse had with humans and tells us that they were always found together when it says “constant companions”. Which also lets people infer that the Arabians were treated well by their owners there for the Arabian horse grew close to humans. In addition to that we have the Horse Channel state that “In addition to harsh climates often led the nomads to share food, water, and sometimes even their tents with their horses.” This quote tells us that the Arabian horse was always close with human and sometimes relied on humans for survival. Which is an amazing statement because it shows that the Arabian didn’t just work with humans but also lived side by side with the humans. Back when the Morgan breed first came about people would use them for both work and pleasure. The American Morgan Horse Association states this with “Worked alongside their owners clearing fields and forest.” Morgan horses first started out as a work horse used to help their owners clear fields. This was very important because back then there wasn’t no heavy equipment like we have today therefore the Morgan horse was essential to help clear the fields. However the Morgan horse was also able to be used for pleasure. The American Morgan Association points this out with “When the weeks work was done, they provided transportation to Saturday market and Sunday meeting.” This is where the Morgan’s multiple different uses come in handy. For example the Morgan horse could be used Monday through Friday for help clearing field but then on Saturday and Sunday the Morgan would be used for transportation. This helped a lot because in most cases people had a work horse for work and a transportation horse to take them places but with the Morgan they had two horses in one. The Morgan horse is a spectacular horse just like the Arabian horse.
