Albinos in Malawi are exposed to great danger with constant persecution going on. As from 2014, at least 11 albinos have been murdered and over 50 cases have been reported in Malawi including kidnapping, murdering, injuring or detaching of albino’s limbs or the digging of graves of albinos (Amnesty International 2016; Manyozo 2016). It is noted that these cases are connected to the superstitions and ritual practices of witchdoctors with the belief that the body parts or albinos bring prosperity and fortune (Manyozo 2016; Namadzunda 2016). African Press Organization(2016) and Amnesty International (2016) have indicated that albinos continues to live in anxiety, fearing that they might be the next victim of the practice of witchcraft, especially
