Who was the princess of R&B Aaliyah Dana Haughton was an American singer and actress.She was born on January 16,1979 in Brooklyn,New York,to Diane and Micheal Haughton.Aaliyah was the youngest child.She had an older brother named Rashon.Aaliyah and her family moved to Detroit,Michigan where she was raised.Aaliyah began singing as a young child and started to take voice lessons early.She attended a Catholic school named Gesu Elementary where she played a role in a stage play titled “a famous singer before Aaliayh auditioned for commercials,television shows and record labels.She started to be in concerts with Gladys Knight when she was 11.Aaliyah went to the detroit highschool for the fine and performing Arts.She majored in drama and graduated in 1997.
