Republican Vs Right Republican Essay

A political spectrum is different opinions on political issues. Varying between left Democrat and right Republican. Coming into this assignment I feel that I am a moderate. On some topics I agree with Democrats and on other topics I agree with Republicans. For example I agree with Republicans about taxes. On the other hand I agree with Democrats about abortions. Im general I tend to be more liberal but with many conservative ideals. The first issue is abortion. I agree with the Democrats that abortion should be legal. Republicans, on the other hand, think that abortions are wrong and should be illegal unless having the baby would kill the mother. The government should not be in control of what a woman wants to do medically and to her own body. An abortion is a very personal decision. Many people base their beliefs of abortions on their religion, which is fine, but this should not affect someone who is not religious and wants an abortion. Personally I disagree with abortions due to religious and personal reasons, but my reasons should not control what other women do to their bodies and their decisions. My opinion on abortion politically defines me as a Democrat. …show more content…
I agree with Republicans who believe that taking away people's guns would cause more harm than good. Democrats believe that banning guns would help create less violence and safer environments. I believe that people should be able to protect themselves. Gun free zones are unnecessary because a sign that says, “No guns allowed!”, is not going to stop someone who is already crazy enough to murder people. Also if we take away guns from innocent people how will they defend themselves against the criminals who broke the law and got guns illegally? My opinion on gun control politically defines me as a

Consistent with the decision of Roe V. Wade, the democrats believe that women should have the right to choose whether or not they want abortion, regardless of their ability to pay for it. This issue, more than being about abortion is about women’s health and their freedom to have control over their own bodies. The democrats believe that the government should leave the issue for the individuals to decide and the government should have little to no control over that. Regarding this issue Bernie Sanders, senator of Vermont who is a democrat currently running for presidency, states that “We are not going back to the days when women had to risk their lives to end an unwanted pregnancy. The decision about abortion must remain a decision for the woman…

"No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg." -Frederica Mathewes-Green. A few common reason why women get an abortion are financial instability and negative impact on the mother’s mental health and/or career/education. While most Democrats believe that females have full control over if they want an abortion or not because if they do not abort, the child will be born and raised with multiple psychological issues, most Republicans argue that no female should get an abortion under any circumstances because every child’s life matters and if a female cannot take care of her child, she should give them up for foster care.…

William S. LaPierre from “Crime is the Basic Problem, Not Guns” claims that, “America has a crime problem, not a gun problem.” Anti-gun activists believe that by taking guns away the crime rate will drop. They believe it is too dangerous for the public especially for our children. If a new gun law were to be put in place, one that would state that guns are illegal, crime would most likely not change. People would be left defenseless against criminals.…

Democrats regard religion as scientific and non-organized, while Republicans are largely influenced by religion and tradition. For example, Republicans’ stance on abortion is based on religion and their belief that an unborn child has the right to live and cannot be taken away. Democrats support abortion and believe a woman has the right to make her own decisions. Another social difference is based on family upbringing. Liberals focus on a relationship built on respect and trust between a child and his parents to create potential of a fulfilled adult, whereas conservatives believe a relationship built on respect and fear will build character and a self-reliant adult.…

Going back to the idea that the government could take away all the firearms from civilians, we have to face the fact that even that would not protect anyone. Instead, it would put many people in danger. The law to take away guns would not affect criminals, because criminals do not follow the law. Without guns for protection, the law-abiding citizens would be helpless to defend themselves against the criminals who would now be the only citizens with guns. The law that was meant to protect would actually lead to the victimization and possible death of law-abiding citizens.…

Abortion has been a great topic of debate for many years, both in terms of law/rights and in morality/religion. The constant debate has split people into two sides: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that women have a right to decide the fate of their body, health, and life. They personally may not get an abortion, but they feel that it is still the right of the mother to choose. Abortion prevents unsafe pregnancies, protects women 's right to choose, liberates women from patriarchal control over women 's sexual and reproductive lives, and allows the mother to choose whether, when, and how often to have a child.…
