The main purpose for this article is to convince the GOP party how bad Trump is for their brand, he subdued hints at what the GOP stands to lose further strengthens his arguments for the GOP distancing themselves from Trump at all…
Donald Trump fueled the alt-right, which is a mix of rightist online phenomena including everything from 4chan to neo-Nazi sites and stimulated the online culture wars (Nagle 11). The way in which Trump could put out many different tweets showed those on the extreme level that he did not have to say things in a certain way and many people agreed with the way in which he handled things. This was especially true with Roosh V, a pickup artist and neo-masculinist, who wrote a series of books in which he went to different countries to find different strategies to manipulate and coax women to have sex (Nagle 89). Roosh V saw Trump’s victory as a win for his movement saying, “we now have a President who rates women on a 1-10 scale in the same way that we do” (Nagle 90). This shows that people would take some of what Donald Trump would say to the extreme and in turn create papers, series, and online memes that could potentially cause a conflict with others including liberals and feminists.…
The Radical Republicans have had more impact on American society and culture than any other person in history for the three following reasons. They were the main influence for Lincoln to push to end slavery during the American Civil War, they were the reason for the harsh treatment of the South during Reconstruction, and they came up with laws to prevent the effectiveness of the Ku Klux Klan’s terrorism. The first reason, they were the main influence for Lincoln to push to end slavery at the end of the Civil War. The Radical Republicans affected American society and culture because Lincoln’s goal wasn’t to end slavery when the war was finished, it was to preserve the Union.…
Republicans and Democrats have not agreed on much for a long time, since the late 1700’s, in fact. They are not afraid to let people know that they disagree and they have no filter on how they show it. In fact, this year has been a huge year for the political parties because it is an election year. Also this election has been none like others, because of the name calling, private e-mail leaks and so much more. It has shown the true sides of both parties.…
I remember when Donald Trump first announced his political run for office. He built his campaign on the slogan: We’re going to Make America Great Again, “reinforced” by his bold claim of “building a wall”. When Trump got down into the weeds with Megyn Kelly during the first Fox News Republican debate, I sensed Donald Trump was a proud and arrogant man. I went on my own campaign against him; making phone calls, writing emails, calling news agencies and talk shows, posting madly to Facebook — whatever I could do to try to stop a really bad person from wrecking the Republican Party and damaging the nation. NeverTrump was my obsession, but it was, at that time, merely political for me.…
Sam Richards starts out by telling us how our thoughts, feelings and actions are dictated by our surroundings. He then continues telling us how we are part of a bigger picture. We may never know all the people who are going through the same struggles we are, but we can find comfort in knowing that we are experiencing the same trials and triumphs that others are. I have learned a great deal about using my “sociological imagination” through the campaigning I did in the Republican Primary. When you are knocking on someone's door to simply ask them, "may I ask who you're voting for?".…
Party Identification I am to believe that I am part of the Republican Party, as being raised in a republican based family. Just as I was, many other people are usually taught on their views based upon their parent’s views on political events. In the family I was raised in we didn’t really keep close eyes on politics and who we think should be the right person to do the job. They always just said that, “one vote can’t make much of a difference, especially when I don’t like who is running”.…
Every four years the U.S president election comes along and forces citizens to choose a side. Republican or Democratic. However, since the beginning of these elections, certain stereotypes have clung to each party and can even still be seen today. Biased opinions and political stereotypes make it difficult for the general public to judge candidates based on important issues. Republicans are seen as closed minded, racist, uneducated, rednecks.…
One ominous morning of 2008 I woke up to a saddened atmosphere. I look around at my parents, who are hardcore republicans, and asked them what was wrong. They said that they had lost the election. My eight year old self replied that they never won because they never ran, and of course they explained that their party lost the run for presidency. For the years to come every time I would look at the news and see a little “R” next to a person name I would know that they are the “good guys”.…

American politics are centered on the split between two major political parties, the Democrats and the Republicans. Throughout history, Democrats and Republicans have emphasized and ascertained the evident differences between their policies. They are majorly perceived as black and white, liberal and conservative, however their similarities seem to be overshadowed by these differences. Democrats focus on change, while Republicans value tradition, but both parties have emphatical sources of political support and focus on expansion of surveillance and security. Democrats and Republicans have opposing beliefs, regarding political, economic, military, and social matters.…
Although slavery’s disruption of the political system was an immediate cause of the Republican Party’s creation, the party also reflected basic economic and social changes in American society, namely, the market revolution’s completion and the beginning of mass immigration from Europe. The American economy grew rapidly in the late 1840s and early 1850s. The expansion of a national railroad network did much to hasten economic growth. By 1860, railroads, and no longer water, carried most of the crops and goods in the nation. Rail helped integrate the Old Northwest and the Northeast, laying the basis for political unity in the form of the Republican Party.…
The party that I chose to evaluate was the Illinois Green Party. I chose to evaluate this website because I wanted to see how a 3rd party would match up to the Democratic and Republican pages. At first glance, the page does seem to be a little outdated, however it was much better than I anticipated. Because the Green Party is a lesser known party, I expected a late 90s themed website that was hard to navigate. On the homepage there were links for people to get involved with the party, as well as places to donate.…
The United States has many parties that run in the presidential election. Although many people run for president usually only two parties win the Democrats or the Republicans. Most people just assume that the two parties share some similarities. Contrary to popular belief these two parties win most elections they are not alike in any way shape or form. The Democrats and Republicans have many beliefs on topics such as tax policies, social issues, labor and free trade laws, health care, social problems, energy and environmental issues, crime and capital punishment, and each liberty.…
As President, Donald Trump is more of a transformational leader than a transactional leader. He inspires and connects with Americans, he is more concerned with the wealth and safety of America, as a whole, than he is with his own wealth. According to “Town Hall”, Trump broke the record for the most votes for a republican in his 2016 election victory. (Barkoukis) He inspired Americans on his prolific campaign trail through the United States and motivated people to get out and vote.…
