This paper highlights reproductive rights. What are Reproductive rights? Reproductive rights refer to the choices an individual have and that can have an impact on their body. Therefore the individual must take other preventive measures such as the use of condoms which are available for men and women. Individuals can also take the stance of being abstinent; the choice solely relies on the individual when choosing a method of birth control.
Birth control is highly important because of preventive measures. An positive component of birth control is the decrease in pregnancy rate, which is great because the population size decrease, which is great for the economy (Siegel 2012). Overpopulation of people within any given society equates to a strain on the government, which would result in less resources for each person. Overpopulation can also result in unsuitable living environments, low wage jobs, and poverty. If birth control did not exist many women would have children consecutively, which is not good for their health.
Abortion is the early termination of a pregnancy. Abortion access was not accessible to all women; African American women did not have the necessary resources to have an abortion rights (Fields 2013).
