It is clear that hooks is correct. In a lot of soap operas and movies, the poor are made to be seen as someone who is worthless and they are seen as criminals, when most of them aren’t. In the soap operas that I have came across and seen, I can say that I agree with bell as she says, “It seems as if what they were trying to do was to make the poor not feel good about themselves (bell hooks, 485). Although these entertainment pastimes aren’t made to be seen as something that goes on in real life, they do have real people in them. Poor individuals do get hurt; they get hurt because say that once one of them has had a bad day and they come home to watch soap operas, movie or a show, but they (t.v entertainment) portray the poor as worthless criminals who are working in a huge house with wealthy families; making them for something to think
