Representation Of The Mise-En-Scene In The Film Miranda

This film is famous for the representation of women that appear in it, and the representation of the fashion industry. First the analysis of the mise-en-scene in the film is what calls the attention of the viewers. The film location is in New York City, one of the most famous cities around the world if not the first one. One of the most important scenes in the movie are the ones that Miranda appears, because she is the main reason of many things. Fashion makes an important role when Miranda is shown in one of the scenes where she is inside a car, wearing big sunglasses, shiny lipstick and beautiful earrings. The red and bold lipstick means passion, and it seems Miranda has been losing it over time. In many shots we can see how Miranda is shown with a marvelous light on her, or maybe her accessories shining, but the background is many times grey and dark which represents the personality of a famous person who has a rich personality and career. She is also very dominant throughout the whole film, and we can see this many times when the camera focuses on her and the people walking behind appear only as shadows or blurred silhouettes, which makes the audience notice that Miranda is the character that matters the most and is very strong in personality. This character is the center of attention in most part of the movie because she has a personality that makes the audience feel afraid of her in a certain way. Power and control are showed through Miranda when she often uses her black leather gloves. This character cares too much about her appearance and this could infer that she has an inner problem with her beauty. In the example of the car scene, the separation that the director gives
