Chapter - I: INTRODUCTION
This paper deals about the feasibility study of setting up a restaurant in Tambaram, near Chennai. Chennai is of the best cosmopolitan city. Hotel industry plays a major role in developing the city by the standard of living.

The suppliers should be divided into two categories:
1. Supplier for perishable goods
2. Supplier for non-perishable goods
The tender of notice should be issued through the public advertising agencies. The quotations are received and evaluated. The best quotation which suits the expected quality standard and the cost is selected and the order for the supply of goods is given to the particular supplier.
A provision should be made for alternative supply of raw materials from another supplier in case of emergency. To ensure the best quality, the best storage facility is essential. The storage area should have good ventilation, suitable temperature, good lighting system etc,. The raw material should be arranged in the proper manner with ease of access. The inventory control system will ensure the quality of the materials.

There should be large investment in promotion at the initial stage.
 Different theme based advertisements should be developed to capture the insight of the customers.
 The customer order wait time can be utilized to hear songs, read news papers and for children, small play games may be introduced.
 Billboards can be an attractive strategy for promoting the restaurant.
 Sales promotion coupons like free sample of the particular product can be given.
 Invitation for a particular group of people of an organization can be given to promote the restaurant.
 Publicity through local news
