Renting An Apartment? 3 Reasons To Get Renter’s Insurance
Many tenants make the assumption that their apartment building’s master policy will cover their unit entirely in case something were to happen to it. That is not true, which is why renter’s insurance is a very valuable thing to have for anybody that is renting an apartment. Here are 3 reasons why you should consider it.

Do not make the mistake of assuming that you will get any assistance from your landlord if you are forced to evacuate your unit due to a natural disaster.
Theft Protection
A common problem is to have a break-in where thieves steal your belongings out of your apartment, but it doesn’t have to leave you in financial ruins. A renter’s insurance policy will help pay for anything that was stolen. This could include an expensive TV, jewelry, or even your laptop computer. Even if the break-in was prevented by neighbors, anything that was damaged in the process can be covered by renter’s insurance.
While there are no guarantees that the police will recover what was stolen, insurance money will help you replace the items. Just make sure you know if there is a cap to how much personal property will be replaced according to your policy.
Renter’s insurance may seem like one additional cost to pay, but it can save your finances by offing you much needed protection. Check with a local insurance agent about it, since you may even get a discount by combining it with your auto insurance
