Performed in many plays and musicals during university and also began composing music as well. Later in his schooling wrote a score to a musical called “Libro de Buen Amor” which can be translated to (Book of Good Love), written by Jacques Burdick who was the department head and later became Jonathan’s mentor. Larson graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, participated in a summer stock theater program in in Augusta, Michigan, as a piano player. This earned him an Equity Card for membership in the Actor’s Equity Association.
When Jonathan lived in his loft he had no heat, him and his roommates said it was the worse conditions to live in. Even with his living situation Larson and his roommates always through a Christmas party for his friends and co-workers which usually included music and acting performances. He worked as a waiter at the Moondance Diner for about ten years on the weekends and on the weekdays worked on composing and writing musicals. While working at the diner Larson met Jesse L.
