Persuasive Essay On Renewable Energy

If there was the possibility of changing the fate of the world for the better, would the people do it? At this very moment we are burning up fossil fuels that we will never be able to replenish. There is a clock running on how long we can make fossil fuels last, and that clock is ticking down every day every hour. We were made to evolve and learn, so let’s do so. Let’s focus on finding a new way to power the world that does not poison it. One way of powering the world is called renewable energy. Renewable energy can give us the ability to sustain our energy needs without burning up all of earth 's non renewable resources. “Why should we focus on renewable energy”, they might ask. The answer is renewable energy is the one idea we have to focus …show more content…
Fossil fuels may give us the energy we need, but they are also choking us off as well. Carbon monoxide is well known for causing global warming, but there are other byproducts that are equally as bad. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists there are “two oxides of nitrogen--nitrogen dioxide and nitric oxide--are formed in combustion” (Air Pollution). Nitrogen oxides can appear as a yellowish brown clouds hovering over many cities. They have been found to cause irritated lungs, bronchitis, and pneumonia. There are many health risks from breathing in the chemicals formed from burning fossil fuels, but we still use them. There are alternatives to using fossil fuels like ethanol and biodiesel, which are not as great of a pollutant as fossil fuels. The production of renewable energy seeks to harness the power of nature to convert into usable energy. There is no pollution formed from the creation of renewable energy. Renewable energy can also be cheaper as …show more content…
This is true at the current moment it cannot. That does not mean that we can not make it reach the demand. The truth that we are not trying hard enough to find out. According to Wharton University, “The United States only gets 13% of its energy from renewable resources where Germany and Denmark get nearly 50% of their energy from renewable energy” (Science). This a lot considering we have only just scratch the surface of what we can do,and the advancements we can make in the future. For instance, imagine a world where every house has solar singles and solar siding and maybe a small almost hidden wind generator here or there and that is only the beginning. We can travel as far as our minds will take us creating all sorts of new renewable energy harvesting technologies. So just because it can not reach the demand right now does not mean that we should just give up on it. It just means we should focus even harder on further expanding it like a new

I think we should keep TMI(Three Mile Island) because the positives outweigh the cons. In my opinion, keeping TMI would be a good idea because of the amount of energy it can produce. If they closed TMI then a lot of people would lose their jobs. TMI produces emission free energy unlike coal or other fuels. If TMI closes, then Pennsylvania's main source of energy would be coal or propane which is very bad for the air.…

Fossil fuels make up most of the world’s energy for electricity and fuel to specify crude oil, coal, and natural gas, each one is different in efficiency, availability, and byproducts, and they are same because they are all burn to get to the energy out and the main byproduct is carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. (Fischer, Douglas) The more carbon dioxide in the faster temperature rises, so has the emission regulate carbon dioxide emission before it out of control. Also the other byproducts are harmful as to the environment as to human. When fossil fuels are burned they release hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide gases and heavy metals leave behind, when burned it release hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide the gases will mix with water in air to create acid rain that could scar or destroy forests, with second most biodiverse forest being in the U.S. it have to be protected.…

We learned that fossil fuels emit many greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. Greenhouse gases causes the greenhouse effect which leads to global warming, but it also can cause health issues among people. Also, if Pruitt lower the EPA standards more fossil fuels will be extracted. In class we learned that the extraction of fossil fuels leads to the destruction of environmental habitats. The extraction of fossil fuels can also be costly and have a negative impact on the economy.…

Continued reliance on fossil fuels only prolongs an inevitable end. An alternative resource to fossil fuels will arise when we have no other option, and we will shift our dependence. This inevitability is encouragement for prompt action. Since moving away from fossil fuels will happen, sooner action equates to more of the environment protected. The strength of the fossil fuel industry can only be overcome with support from the government.…

Ever since the industrial revolution, humanity has continued to increase energy consumption. Coal and oil are, of course, the most commonly used to meet the high demand followed by natural gas. Solar energy has the more potential than any other source, yet it is the source of so little of total energy produced. Fossil fuels will be exhausted first in less than 300 years (4), then natural gas. Solar power could provide unlimited pollution free energy.…

A transition to renewable energy can be difficult for numerous reasons. First we can simple evaluate the scale. The global use of fossil energies were about 1x10^18 joules in 2012, that’s 20 times greater than it was in the 1890s, as coal overtook wood. Generating this much energy with any new source is intimidating, and a significant amount of it will derive from the United…

So why isn't renewable (green) energy one of them? The earth gives us a multitude of resources that are being used and destroyed with in years. Nature in it's natural form is resilient and once human interaction intensifies nature is less forgiving.…

This means that we can start becoming a greener and environmentally friendly country. If the United States can successfully use wind to provide electricity than other countries will be able to also, leading to a world running on green…

It is common knowledge that usage of fossil fuels is the root cause of these problems because “the burning of coal, oil, and gas… produce major amounts of carbon dioxide or CO2. A single gallon of gasoline, when burned, [emits] 19 pounds of carbon dioxide” (National Wildlife Federation). Global warming is attributed to the prevalence of the greenhouse effect, which is when gases, such as carbon dioxide, in Earth’s atmosphere absorb the Sun’s light to warm the Earth. More gases in the atmosphere lead to more heat being absorbed, thus contributing to the heightened temperatures. Fossil fuels also pollute the Earth and cause deaths.…

Good morning/afternoon everyone. Wind power is a form of renewable energy that uses airflow to create energy. In 2014, 13.9% of Australia’s energy came from renewable sources and of that, only 4.2% of our energy was produced from Wind power. Yet, even with such a low percentage of our power coming from wind energy, our government wants to reduce this even further. The former prime minister of Australia, Tony Abbott, was a big critic of wind farms, stating that they are ‘ugly’ and pose a threat to human health.…
