Renewable energy is the clean power of the future. Mankind is running into a dead end and must act now. The world is filled with variations of power that are rapidly depleting fossil fuels, the average population must understand how these fuels are obtained, what the long term effects of using these fuels has on the world, and how the human race can move forward by using different variations of renewable energy, whether it 's for housing or transportation purposes. "Fossil fuels are an incredibly dense form of energy, and they took millions of years to become so. When they 're gone, they 're gone pretty much forever" ("The End Of Fossil Fuels"). Most modern scientists and petroleum engineers believe fossil fuels will be gone by 2088. Fossil …show more content…
Since that period, oil discovery has had a steady decline. Fossil fuels in the United States and Great Britain formed around 300 million years ago. On the other hand, North Sea deposits formed around 150 million years ago ("The End Of Fossil Fuels"). Crude oil is being consumed at around four billion tons per year in the US. The entire world uses around eleven billion tons of fossil fuels in perspective. The US leads the world in oil consumption. The nation uses around half their oils for fueling vehicles alone. In contrast nations such as England rely heavily on public transportation. A decent amount of England civilians don 't even own a car, but almost all Americans own a car (Ohler 107). In the US, public transportation is mostly popular in major cities. In contrast public transportation is popular all around England and Europe as a whole (Bradford). Laws have been recently passed to require newly manufactured cars and light trucks to get at least 20 miles a gallon, in order to minimize the effects. In terms of time, the US has 1 year, Canada has 6.5 years, Central and South America have 3 years, Africa has 2.7 years, Europe and Asia have 3.4 years, and the Middle East containing Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates has 23 years of fossil fuels remaining (Chandler). The most common misconception is to rely on coal afterward. It is estimated coal will last us a few hundred years alongside using …show more content…
It is primarily created by factories. Laws were put in place to prevent this, but companies still secretly do this because all they care about is money. Heated water is the byproduct of coolants for machinery. This water is dumped into bodies of water. This foreign temperature disrupts aquatic life. All organisms such as fish and plants are affected. Then this indirectly affects the surrounding ecosystems dependent on the waters for food. Thermal pollution causes a chain reaction within ecosystems that can only be stopped by mankind itself and the enforcement of
