Renatta Oyle's Case Study

Decent Essays
Renatta Oyles car driving down 84th street like she is has a velocity of a leftward direction and a leftward direction for acceleration. Velocity is defined as the speed of an object that is going in a certain direction. In this case her velocity is in a leftward direction because she is starting on the right and her car is moving to the left. She is starting on the right because in the diagram is shows that she was stopped on the right and those are the first dots in the diagram because she keeps accelerating to the left. Also in the passage about Renatta Oyles journey it states she is traveling right to left indicating she is starting on the right and ending on the left and in the calculation she has a negative velocity indicating she will be traveling to the left and not the right. …show more content…
At 4 minutes she is starting to move a bit faster and is at -.3 KM/S. At 7 minutes her car has a velocity of -.5 KM/S since minute 2 and 3 she has increased -.4 KM/S. At 8 minutes you can tell a big difference of when she starts to accelerate, she is at -1.3 KM/S. Over a minute period she has increased -.8 KM/S. At 12 minutes her car is still at the velocity of -1.3 KM/S but will soon be rising. At 14 minutes of being on 84th street she is already at -3.2 KM/S for velocity. Her cars velocity has went up -1.9 KM/S in the past 2 minutes. As one looks at the data one can see that the car has been increasing its velocity leading to and increased acceleration. One can also just look at the diagram and look at the distance between the oil dots and see that the space between the dots are going as the car moves to the left from the right. You can tell she is accelerating in a leftward direction because the oil drops are increasing in distance apart from one another while she is moving to the left. Renatta has a leftward velocity and she has a leftward

Her parents, Lindy and Michael Chamberlain, reported that she had been taken from their tent by a dingo, but sadly her body was never found. The first inquest (investigation held to find out the cause of a certain death) supported the parents' claim; this was broadcasted live on television - a first for Australia.…

This phenomenon is also referred to as the slinky or accordion effect. This is caused by a previous traffic disruption that is now long gone. When cars suddenly brake because of a police car or other roadside incident, the cars behind them also brake. When the cars speed up again, they don't do so all at once but instead wait until there is enough empty road space in front before they speed up. This produces an accordion effect that can affect traffic behind it for miles.…

I’m drawn to conversing with Ruby McCollum in her hospital room at Florida State Mental Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida. I have always been fascinated with how the legal system has affected African Americans and women and I am particularly drawn to her story because of how complex it truly was. McCollum’s white family doctor, who overpowered her in numerous regards, raped her over many years. In the South during the 1950s, it was common for white men to avoid legal penalties for raping Black women. In fact, any legal repercussions would make McCollum’s case an anomaly in the Jim Crow South.…

I turned on the vehicle (a dark colored SUV) and had to accelerate to catch up the vehicle. As I was doing this I observed the vehicle again drive on the centerline of the road.
