The Renaissance was a massive movement in history. It was a huge contrasting period to that of the Middle Ages, which was a time where knowledge and art were diminishing. This new Renaissance period lasted throughout the 14th up until 17th century in Europe. Also known as the rebirth or renewal, it reintroduced a new way of looking at art and philosophy and even presented literature, religion, history and a scientific movement as well. The first movement in this time period was known as humanism. Humanism was the study of anything that had to do with human nature. This movement went on to develop a new knowledge about the arts.
