Renaissance Art Advertisement

Before the start of the renaissance art was made and look upon as a symbol of Christianity. Since society was mainly devoting their lives to the church to assure themselves a better life in heaven compared to the terrible lives they had at the time. Then there was a change in the way society looked upon how they lived their lives. People started to strive to enjoy their lives on Earth instead of just in Heaven, this was the start of the Renaissance. Society was starting to become more individualistic, which could be seen through the art created. Art was being created for entertainment, pleasure, and inspiration. Many of the commercials for colognes and perfumes display an image of sexual enhancement and sexual appeal for the users of that product, which can relate to the secularism from many of the art pieces from before like the Nude sculptures of David from both Donatello and Michelangelo. It also uses the techniques like linear perspective and the golden ratio that will keep the consumer and viewers focus on the act that would convince them to buy their products because it makes them think that the product would bring them pleasure. Many companies and organization that want people to be aware of certain causes like the Anti-Smoking Commercials. These types of commercials sometimes show what smoking can do to someone if they do not stop this is a big technique that was used during the renaissance called a Momento Mori which was a reminder to people that death comes to us all which was used on the Holy Trinity by Masaccio. On many of the Billboards that are on the Highways they use the contrast in colors and different perspectives that catch the attention of drives when they pass by them. These same techniques were used in the renaissance to keep the viewers of their art pieces interested and inspired by their works. In colleges art pieces and the placements of art are displayed in a manner that grabs the attention of the students which leads to many students truly appreciating works of arts. For example at Hillsborough Community College inside the Humanities Building the hallways are filled with classical arts from across time displayed in a manner that students are able to admire the works as well as relate to them since most of the art pieces are what has inspired many of the arts from today’s modern
