In past times, people would have most likely only worked for remuneration, the traditional ‘carrot and stick’ extrinsic approach to workplace motivation. Money being the main purpose and fulfillment of the needs that were limited to the money earned. Life was a lot more simple back then as compared to today’s society where we live in now, which has evolved so much with technology, people having access to a vast amount of information right at their fingertips. Therefore knowledge being a lot higher than ever before, people now realize that remuneration is not the only purpose but to build their social standing and whole career.
