Marine Corps War Memorial Patriotism is often associated with Americans in response to the emotional pride in their nations land, culture, present day achievements, and history. However one's devotion to what they love may come with the dismissal of cynical actions. The remembrance of major events in our lives through memorialization keeps us either sane or feel a sense of unity among our community. The way we interact with memorials, contribute to the purpose of its creation.…
Now if we look to the present that the veterans gave us we wouldn’t be the country that we are today we may be still ruled by Britain or still have people in slavery, but people are still standing up for us even today . children today are looking up to those people as hero and sometimes they will want to fallow the footsteps of their family members hoping to be as brave as they are and fight for their country and people that they love because they know that they are helping everyone. Now people don’t realize but when veterans come home everything has changed for them and they miss many things. They could miss the day that their child is born or they may lose contact with old friends that they had.…

America is the land of the free, because of the brave. Americans enjoy many freedoms because of the democracy our ancestors fought very hard to establish. Freedom summarizes what being an American is about, but it’s not what an American is. An American is someone who is brave enough to do something even though the punishment is severe, someone who sees opportunity and stops at nothing to achieve it, and someone who doesn’t take the easy way out. Bravery is part of the definition of an American.…

American veterans have done everything asked of them. These heroes have made countless sacrifices for our country. They have risked everything, including their lives in order for Americans to live and express their opinions freely. I am honored to live in a country where you have the right to chase your dreams and become whatever your heart desires. Now As Americans, we need to show our appreciation by finding ways to help our veterans after they put the rifle down.…
The small-town mentality of Norman’s hometown proves to be detrimental to his journey for healing, as he is shamed and ostracised for the way in which he served his country. Like many other middle-American towns, Norman’s home retains a strong sense of patriotism. From the white picket fences to the perfect ‘nuclear families,’ these civilians are proud of the image of their lives and country as a whole. Thus, these same civilians who fight for the victory of their country work to earn reputations as heroes, whose stories of bravery are to be revered throughout history. On the other hand, veterans are exiled and seemingly punished by this same society upon defeat, much like the veterans who saw America’s loss in the Vietnam War.…

At first I didn’t read any of the captions I just looked at the uniforms hanging and all the memories from badges to coins to letters to pictures from loved ones. I felt some feeling looking at all of these because it reminded me of my uncle’s closet. The feeling wasn’t sadness it was more like pride. My uncle Mike has so much pride for what he accomplished in the Air Force.…
