Remember It's Ok To Be Yourself By Richard Brannon

“Remember it’s ok to be yourself”-Richard Branson. This quote to me means that even if you think you don’t fit in you need to to know it’s ok to be yourself. This quote applies to the story because the author was writing to her younger self and is telling her it is ok to be herself. The author is telling her younger self about not forgetting to be herself, not trying to fit in, and she shouldn’t spend so much time trying to find herself.
Don’t worry about how others think about you. This is significant to me because in seventh grade I let how people thought (or how I thought they did) about me to get in my head and I felt really insecure last year. The second reason is that it happens to alot of teens. To sum up this is significant to me because

Education is the pillar of life, so it is essential that children are given the best quality education as it will help them to combat life's challenges. The government and all other education stakeholders must work together to ensure that public schools deliver more so as to positively impact learning. It is a fact that the education sector faces several drawbacks. However, with a combined effort, it is possible to trigger change. There are two sources that I use for this essay, it is “I Just Wanna Be Average” by Mike Rose is imperative in showing how children are treated in ‘the working-class schools’, and “Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work” by Jean Anyon.…

Unfed is a horror/Comedy novel written by Kirsty McKay, it is set in Scotland in the near future. This is the second book of the series and I have not read the first one and if I had I would have understood this book a bit better. The plot of the book is that there has been an outbreak in a virus and has infected millions and turned them into flesh hungry, undead monsters. The author uses a scary tone which results in a scary mood when reading Unfed. There are five main characters, Bobby who is telling the tale, Alice, Pete, Russ and Smitty.…

At the end, the speaker learned that they shouldn’t follow societies rules for being accepted and they became someone who they could live with. The author uses metaphors and personification to portray that people mustn't hesitate to be themselves. The speaker tells people have to be someone that they aren’t ashamed to be.…

“Life isn’t fair, it’s just fairer than death, that’s all.” (Goldman). There are many examples of unfairness and death in the book, The Princess Bride. It contains way more than that though. In the modern era, if Courtly Love songs are still to be sung, I think it would consist of themes like jealously and hatred. The situation could end in a crueler and violent way such as the husband being jealous of the lover and killing him or the opposite. In my opinion, the modern era idea of Courtly Love would be “hooking up” and having a relationship call “friends with benefits”. Rather than loving someone passionately and trusting him or her fully, physical appearance plays a huge role in finding a lover. One of the main reasons why I chose Bruno Mars’s “Just The Way You Are” is because this song is very different from all the other popular love songs of this era.…

The last time I truly felt content in my life was when I was in elementary school, before the media implanted this idea of “perfection” in my mind, before I was seen as a geek, before the sole thing that mattered was the number of someone’s followers on Instagram, before I was objectified, before I hated myself. How did I not apprehend this before? Through all of these years, I solely wanted to fit in, but why? Why would I want to suffocate my personality" just to be another face in a sea of stereotypes and uniformity? The friendships I had cultivated and all the things I had done were done under the guise of self-hate, judgment, a prolific persona, a girl who so wrongly desired to be just another face among the faces.…

My book review choice “Who Moved My Cheese?” was decided based on several factors. Firstly, the title of the book captured my attention. The witty and unique title left much to the imagination, I was completely intrigued. Upon further research learning what the essence of the story elaborated in this book resonated with me. I felt as though I could connect with what was being said and that this would be “one of those books”, the kind where everyone could gain something invaluable from reading it.…

In the poem “Eating Alone” by Li-Young Lee the theme is one of both love and the loss of someone, in particular the author’s father. He uses symbols and images within his wording to bring forth the memory of his late father. The imagery is utilized several times throughout the poem. An example of this imagery are in line 1 through 3, “I’ve pulled the last of the year’s young onions” (Lee 971), which can tell you that the weather is changing, its getting colder. “The garden is bare now.…

Under the support of Jared Diamond, who also aided him in endorsing his book, Harari connected logical research to each part of mankind 's history and also towards parts of history for which no composed records exist. In truth, Harari utilizes less science than Diamond. He underscores the trouble of knowing in detail the lives of our remote ancestors and is frequently gratified to clarify points that are in effect desperately explored by the all the more forensically slanted. His thoughts are for the most part not new, which are referenced from Diamond, but rather he has an exceptionally trenchant method for putting…

These four years appeared to be my greatest, as I strode into school every day with a sunny complexion and a radiant personality. Unfortunately, this was nothing more than a falsehood that I convinced myself of.…
