For example in the first two lines of the poem the writer says "Remember the sky that you were born under, know each of the star's stories"(Harjo 1-2). To me it sounds like the writer wants us to remember how we were all born under the same sky and that each of us has seen the stars above us. That each star has a story because like each person and creature on earth, there is a story behind there creation and life. Also the writer tells says "Remember the earth whose skin you are"(8), followed by her stating the many different kinds of earth.Though as she explains each color of earth for me sounds like she is talking about the different colors of people. I get this from how she states "red earth, black earth, yellow earth, white earth, brown earth, we are earth'. To me this is the writer explaining about how no matter what color you are that its all part of the earth and that because its all part of earth, that we are all earth as well.

Making it clear that no one not even those who are rich or poor, are any different between each other. Also in the poem the writer goes on to say "Remember that you are this universe and that this universe is you"(Harjo 18). To Me this just points out to the reader that everything in the world no matter what is part of this universe and because of this the universe is also them, making them equal to all
