Therefor to be open-minded you are open to other people like for example you get to learn new stuff about others like traditions and you get to help other communities. In addition, I have learned that I have to keep myself always from things that bring me down. Also to never ever give up, to always doing what’s bests for you. In other words you have goals just like everyone else so do not just give up on them. Bring yourself up and try your hardest to reach them and accomplish them. Always try to stay positive and not think negative about yourself to bring yourself down even more cause that will affect you and others. Aphorism essay A truly outstanding wise man had once said these words,” Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you”. His name is Jesus, and I adopted this aphorism in my own life. The reason no, the reasons I wanted to use this is because I want to be remembered in life, be able to help out my family more back in Mexico, I care more deeply about them and their needs, than I do my own self. People today need to adopt this in their daily lives if they truly care about their families and also want to help support their wants and needs that they deserve. This aphorism connects to my life.…

In this article, Chris Widener tells the audience 10 things he wish he knew before he went out in the real world. These lessons aren’t the type that are taught by teachers, but they are lessons people come to realize just through living life and growing up. For a lot of people, these negative aspects are sheltered by their parents throughout childhood or they are something a child cannot experience just simply because they are too young. At the end, Widener lets the audience know that although there are certainly negative parts of just living life, but life can still be wonderful depending on whether or not you choose to look at life with a positive attitude. While reading this article, I could definitely agree and connect to some of the…

I agree with Mark Twain’s advice. Mark Twain’s advice is “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the harbor.” This quote can be abridged to “have no regrets.”…

Theme: growing up Statement: no matter what, you’re going to go through hard times and you’ll learn from those in life. Remember how in 1995 they cloned a certain little sheep named Dolly, and everyone was talking about it, and didn’t you wonder what would happen if it happened to a human. Well, in Nancy Farmer’s The House of the Scorpion is all about that, and if you don’t like those sort of things, well, what are you doing here I’m not going to waste your time. But if you do want to learn about this book, then keep reading.…

It seems that at some point in our lives, we are taken over by some force, and are tricked into feeling like our desires, our destinies, whatever they may be, have fallen out of reach. Are dreams just a phase that you grow out of after childhood, are they for motivational use, to help us hold on to our sanity when we face each new day, or are they something more? It takes courage to leave behind whatever will slow you down and seek personal happiness. At times we stop listening to that quiet, benevolent voice inside all of us, and sometimes people neglect it altogether when they most need guidance and direction. Siddhartha stirred up my emotions, reinforced a philosophy that I live by, and made me want to rethink my life's goals.…

Every single day there are many decisions that need to be made. Choices that can be as little as wake up time and some that are as big as choosing which college to attend. Most people grow up making decisions based upon their own happiness or because they want to follow in the steps of one of their role models. I didn’t have any role models or someone that I wanted to strive to become. Because I didn't want to base my entire life on someone else’s, I had to learn about what drives a person and what makes someone motivated to do common, everyday tasks.…

Greetings Carine McCandless, I finally made it to Alaska and I believe my journey is going to end soon. Later, after arriving, I ran out of food and I went out to search for food such as fruit or berries. After eating a handful I fell asleep and I awaken with excruciating pain. I started to read the book and I had got the plants mixed with a poisonous plant that look exactly alike. I started making myself throw up and began reading more into the book I figured that the plant I ate can cause starvation and death.…

Basically, don’t let anyone get in the way of your desires or accomplishments because it may affect you negatively. Another way Emerson views life is to try something new when given the chance. “The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried” (Self Reliance”). He states that you don’t know what you can do until you try, so create new experiences for yourself.…

THE EIGHT FOOT CIRCLE “Stand up for what you believe in even if that means standing alone”. When I was younger and got my first opportunity to stand up for myself without anyone pushing me to succeed things didn't go as planned. “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach the stars to change the world,” -Harriet Tubman. We all live by different or many quotes, a quote that I live by is, “It's better to cross the line and suffer the consequences than to just stare at the line for the rest of your life,” because in life you have to take risk, not everything is going to come to you easy. Sometimes you have to lose somethings in order to gain what you really want. In 2005, Steve Jobs gave a speech at Stanford University, he spoke about how he was close to death at a time, for him being close to death always made him want to do more. Bronnie Ware in the article Regrets of the Dying, she talks about how many people regret not doing things that they wanted to do and and start to regret not doing it once they are close to death. In the article The Power of Vulnerability: A Ted Talk by Brene Brown, she talks about how some people are not vulnerable and do not want to take risk in life to get where they want to be.…
