Religous Education: An Analysis

Improved Essays
I live everyday thinking of how Christ would desire me to live. Although often I do fail I keep perservering and pushing through with the help of our Lord. My greatest desire is to live like the Saints and spend eternity with Christ.
My days are very packed with service. I love helping others and seldom can say no to helping others. An average Sunday is waking up going to work at Religous Ed, then going to mass and often adoration, and then in the afternoon there is Youth Group. Starting off the day with Religous Education helps me stay focused on service as I help my children, whom I love, find Christ and be disciples of the Lord. They give me so much value to my day and their joy helps me start more joyful myself. Although my class can be a handful at times every second is worth it because they are worth sacrafice and love.

One group that the world has marginalized are women. But, in truth women are beautiful daughters of Christ and deserve so much more respect than society gives them. It sickens me to see how America and the rest of the world treats women forgetting their basic human dignity. Women are not simply objects for carnal pleasures! They are people deserving of love and respect; they are worth dying for just as Christ did on the cross for all. This desire to uphold the dignity of all does not simply halt there it extends to all. Especially the unborn are dear to my heart. How secure can a society be when the most vulnerable are being massacred by the thousands each day. I desire to raise my family in the future with them knowing their inherit value and dignity increasing the respect for the family which Society has opted to throw

Also it can give me a sense of community. I can promote all of the NJHS tenets but I am only going to write about service, character and scholarship. In today’s society, people are swept up in the wrath of being too prideful, or become greedy. These deadly sins deaden our religious life, causing us to distance ourselves from God’s path. Everyone must dig deep into their spiritual lives, and lend a helping hand to those who need it the most. Whether it’s simply having a conversation with a homeless person, donating money, or volunteering at a daycare for the destitute children, these charitable acts can make a huge difference in someone’s life. My service learning experience was an eye opener for me, and it made me realize how privileged and blessed I truly am.…

I tend to think of this point as the most important point. Standing and serving those in need doesn't have to just be the poor, it could be a friend who was being bullied, or someone who simply needed help with homework. As Catholics, we stand by people who need assistance rather than running away and ignoring them. This summer, I worked at the Center for Food Action, which is a food bank in north Jersey. Helping out and delivering the canned good and donations to the needy was such an amazing experience.…

Rush Limbaugh has nothing to do with Engel v Vitale, the Red Scare or religions’ proper place in the educational system in the 1960s, but this quote describes exactly what permeated the minds of Americans at the time. It was conservatives against liberals, the United States against the Soviets, religion against secularism, First Amendment activists against anti-Communist crusaders and so on. Freedom from an established religion and the ability to freely exercise any religion of your choosing are cornerstones of American democracy. It has long been debated what exactly constitutes an established religion or what constitutes prohibiting free exercise of religion, but government protest and individualism are also tenants of the American view of…

In certain parts of the world, women are being dehumanized. They are thought of as less than men, therefore, the men believe it is ok to not treat them with respect or kindness. Dehumanization can be seen all throughout history. Even though the word dehumanization isn’t used in Harper Lee’s quote, “There were other ways (besides physical incarceration) of making people into ghosts” (Lee 14), it can be a hidden…

Women are being oppressed in much of the world but many are turning a blind eye to the situation. In the poorest, most poverty stricken countries of the world girls are seen as worthless. They are given no maternal or health care and little to no education because they are not perceived to be equivalent to men. These problems could be solved or greatly improved if they received the attention that they deserve. The oppression of women has been occurring for centuries but slowly women 's rights issues are gaining more attention.…

America is one of the most religiously, diverse country on earth and yet we remain dangerously ignorant about religion. Experiences and knowledge gained in the early ages of life often have a major impact on how students interact with the world for the rest of their lives. This makes it a critical time for them to be educated about the various religions of the world. Schools have the ability to give students a better understanding of what is going on in the news, religious events held, as well as holidays. Although some believe that religion should not be taught in school because it will seem that the teachers are forcing a religion to kids who don't understand why people are in these religions in the first place, while others believe that Having…

Throughout time, most civilizations have set standards for women, mentally ill people, people of color and even men. And that is only a few of the collectives affected as such.
