In the effort of making a business out of health care organizations many facilities are utilizing the framework that comes from the directional strategies. The directional strategies are the basis of the structure that supports guidelines of various business decisions and activities of a health care organization. This special group of nurses had unofficially been operational on Naval ships and in Naval Hospitals for one hundred years prior to the acknowledgment of congress. Today the Nurse Corps is a vital component of the United States Navy Medical Department. This component of the Navy was then inaugurated as a part of the staff corps in April 1947. The Mission Statement for the Nurse Corps is to “Provide professional nursing care to promote, protect, and restore the health of all entrusted to our care anytime, anywhere,” ("Nurse Corps," 2009, pp. 8-3). The Nurse Corps consist of Naval Officers that regardless to whatever duty assigned, has the principal duty of optimizing the well-being of military beneficiaries/clients.
