Religion has been a big part of individuals and society. Religion is a unified system of beliefs and practices relative to sacred things, that is to say, things set apart and forbidden—beliefs and practices which unite into one single moral community called a Church all those who adhere to them (Religion). People all around the world today practice all different kinds of religious beliefs with which religion group they follow. It informs the lives of virtually every society as a complex system involving beliefs, behavior, organizational structure, and symbols (Religion). Religion is an important part of society, relating to the political, social, economic, and cultural background of each population. It has been big with issues dealt in todays world. Issues such as class and gender roles throughout history. Hinduism and Islam are two very important religion groups that portray how religion has created and demolished class and gender roles in history. Religion plays a crucial role in many women 's lives. Many religions offer promises of liberation and fairness, yet such promises are often achieved at the expense of women 's freedom, forcing them into subordinate positions (Wheeler). Hinduism and Islam are similar because they both use their beliefs to support patriarchy in society. Unlike Hinduism, Islam historically gave women more freedom.
