First of all, Harry Potter is a lived theology. Miller-McLemore describes a lived theology as “the practice of everyday life that has religious or moral implications with or without a person being conscious of it” (qtd. in Apostolides and Meylahn, “The Lived Theology” 1). After the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was published, author J.K. Rowling said in an interview that the books were, in fact, based on Christ’s story and that as a young girl she sought faith and attended church regularly even though the rest of her family members were not believers. Also, Rowling attributes the “spiritual quest of love and death” in the series to her own mother’s young death. It is in our politics, in our news, and in our entertainment. Even in the Harry Potter series religion is very obvious. Christianity can be seen in Harry Potter because it is a lived theology. Many of the characters in the series have Christ-like qualities and some Christian practices are represented. But still, some people believe Harry Potter promotes negative values. However you look at it, though, it is almost impossible to deny the influence of Christianity in the Harry Potter
