According to Religious Tolerance.org, approximately 86% of the world’s population identifies itself as belong to one religion or another. And of that number, over half identify themselves as Jews, Christians, or Muslims. Without any major countries that are full of non-religious people, we can’t look at statistics for gender equality within that demographic. So to answer the question, I would say that women are better off with religion than without it. I would attempt to explain that since women are probably treating other women better than men are; it is treatment of women by men that is the issue. If men had no God to answer to, or no afterlife to concern himself with, poor treatment of women would be a lot easier to live with. But if men try to live a just and decent life, as most religions propose, then their counterparts (women), stand to
