They did this because they felt that these were important things that were a necessity. One great example of this was Tranio when he was posing as Lucentio. He was told by Lucentio to do anything he could to win Bianca's hand so it often got out of hand. One time it did this was when he was trying have the best dowry for Bianca so he lied about a lot of the stuff, like when he said “That ‘only’ came well in.
